A third of donors in the United Kingdom intend to donate less to charity over the next six months according to figures from the new Charitable Giving Report, carried out by marketing firm Tangible Response.
Results also showed that 46 per cent of those surveyed will not change the amount that they donate.
Among donors with an annual income greater than £30,000 ($63,175), 60 per cent said their level of donation would remain steady, compared with 42 per cent of those earning less than £30,000 per year.
Furthermore, 47 per cent of those who donate by cheque or postal order intend to maintain their donation levels, as compared with 65 per cent of those who donate by direct debit.
The online survey is conducted each month among a random selection of 30,000 adults and results are categorised by gender, age, income and method of donation.
