The Australian Society of Association Executives board this week welcomed Tony Steven, CEO of the Tasmanian Branch of the Australian Medical Association, as the newest Director of its board.
Professional accreditation is crucial for association executives, says the newest Director of the AuSAE board, Tony Steven.
“We look forward to the possibility of a lively, if small, AuSAE chapter being sparked off in the island state,” said AuSAE CEO Richard Gerner.
Steven spoke of the value of AuSAE membership and the Certified Association Executive program.
“For me, the biggest benefit of being a member of AuSAE is networking – just knowing there are other people out there that are experiencing what I am experiencing is a comfort in what can be a challenging occupation,” Steven said.

“Education is the key in these complex times” he said. “The Certified Association Executive program is AuSAE’s best asset and encouraging CEO’s and prospective CEO’s to do this course will increase their performance and heighten the creditability of both the profession and AuSAE itself”.
Steven has 20 years’ association management experience, having held several board positions. He is the founder of Association Offices, an organisation that offers services to assist member associations and small businesses with day to day operations.
Tasmanian non-profit organisations interested to participate in some networking in Tasmania, should contact Tony directly on (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or phone him on 03 6223 2047. Tony’s office is in Davey Street, Hobart.
