Held from 10-16 May, National Volunteer Week (NVW) is the largest celebration of volunteerism in Australia, and provides an opportunity to highlight and thank the role of volunteers in Australian communities.
There are currently over five million volunteers in Australia, who contribute more than 700 million hours of community service. NVW provides a platform to pay tribute to these volunteers who donate their time and energy to help others.
Volunteering Australia is encouraging organisations to get involved in NVW through registering their thank-you events online.
