The Australian Medical Association (AMA) of Queensland has appointed Jane Schmitt as the organisation’s new CEO.
Ms Schmitt was previously with the Master Builders Association and was welcomed in her new role by AMA Queensland President Dr Chris Davis.
“Jane’s high level legal qualifications and demonstrated management expertise, as well as extensive experience in the health sector, will help ensure her very significant contribution to the effectiveness of AMA Queensland in the current busy and dynamic environment.
“I look forward to working with Jane in 2009 to continue lobbying for outcomes on behalf of Queensland patients and our members and to ensure health remains high on the agenda for all sides of politics,” he said.
