Thorburn has held executive positions in the banking sector and was the Commercial Director of the Australian Rugby Union before establishing 24/7 Sports, a sports marketing, promotions and events management company.

The Professional Golfers Association of Australia (PGA) has appointed Brian Thorburn as its new CEO, taking over from Max Garske, who is retiring after almost 30 years with the PGA.
